Swindon & Proud of It

Shelley Rudman Skeleton silver Olympic medal winner deserves better than a 1 inch square picture on front page of Swindon Advertiser. (after clicking on the link how is easy is it to find this great Swindon born success on the web site.
I think I have found her year round training track, it's Silbury Hill close to her home and work.

This set me wondering was Stonehenge a early giant version of Domino Rally?

Bill Burrows Daily Mirror Feb 18th article re Swindon Council clamping headstones in Whitbourne Cemetery.

I love the advert on the back of the local buses and on its web site for the Goddard Hotel, Old Town claiming it's "at the heart of City Centre!!!!!!" a case for Trading Standards, I think, the nearest City Centre must be 30 miles away ie Oxford, "how big is it's heart???"

This all "Makes me Proud to be in Swindon"; I just don't believe it

Andy & Jons Birthday weekend party

Andy returned home from Barcelona for the weekend Friday night we went to Reading to see Saints totally out played by the home side who won 2-0. The evening was taken in good heart by the visiting supporters singing their way through the whole match. Parking at the Madejski stadium is a nightmare.

Saturday we went out as a family 18 of us in total, sons, girlfriends and mates to the New World Chinese Restaurant eat as much as you like buffet, plus karaoke , then onto Walkabout where I met a Latvian (what a cool web address i've now started to check out others very disappointed in uk; & gb) who was so pleased to see us oldies enjoying ourselves with our children in a this very youthful bar. Returning home at 3am exhausted but full pride and emotion of what a great evening we had all had.
