The money that is available for the Swindon town centre canal, should immediately be offered to Cotswolds Canal Partnership to link the Severn with the Thames at least there is point to it. Then give any spare money to the Cricklade Railway to link Swindon with the Thames. The canal in town will become a town centre is going to be a inconvience to motorist, leading to cars not going to town, drop in car parking fees increase in council tax!!
